Greetings,
It has been 7 years since our first show under the NY Gypsy Festival banner. Since then, this grassroots festival has reached thousands of fans and immigrants in New York transcending barriers and celebrating the music of the people of the Roma (ie. Gypsies). Over the last seven years the infamous festival's reputation has grown to one of national prominence. That which defines the Gypsy diaspora, tenacity, vivaciousness, variety and spirit, in turn defines our entire festival.
In preparation for the epic 7th edition of the New York Gypsy Festival we have lined up 15 headliners for the "loudest and proudest" festival New York has to offer. From klezmer hip-hop to flamenco funk, Balkan jazz & blues to indie-pop there is a little something for everyone on this year’s menu. For twenty joyous days in September this year, join us in the festivities and celebrate with us.
The festival will also celebrate new album releases of British artist GABBY YOUNG & THE OTHER ANIMALS' "We're All In This Together" (Four Quarters), Montreal-based SOCALLED's "Sleepover" (Dare To Care Records), ROGER DAVIDSON & FRANK LONDON KLEZMER ORCHESTRA's "On The Road of Life" (Soundbrush) and Hungarian/Serbian guitarist CSABA TOTH BAGI's “Aved Ivenda” (Groove Attack).
